NEXT STEPS

Everyone has a “Next Step” they can take in their faith journey. Whether that is simply investigating what a relationship with Jesus Christ looks like, or going across the globe as part of an international PEACE trip to love and serve others, the goal is to reflect the character of Jesus more and more. It is our desire to help students identify where they are at and provide them with potential next steps.

Our hope for every student in our ministry is that they will be taking next steps in their faith. A next step could be as simple as a student committing to read their Bible for five minutes each day for the first time or could be deciding to get baptized, or even going on an international PEACE trip. Whatever you next step is, we want to be here to support and encourage you on your journey.

student leadership

The purpose of HSM Student Leadership is to equip High School Students to take next steps in their understanding of Jesus, their commitment to Him, and service to Him in the church for the rest of their lives.

This semester, we are going to be walking through the fruit of the spirit from Galatians 5:22-23. Through out Jesus’s life, he references the importance of producing good fruit in our lives (John 15:1-7, John 15:16, Matthew 12:33, Matthew 7:16-20, Luke 6:43-45). We will be taking a look at each of the Fruits of the Spirit that Paul mentions in Galatians and what it looks like to produce those kinds of fruit in our lives.

“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!” - Galatians 5:22-23 NLT

Baptism

Baptism is an outward symbol declaring your inward commitment to Jesus Christ! It’s a way to tell your friends, family, and community that you believe Jesus died for your sins and that you are committed to following him for the rest of your life. We believe in full immersion baptism (a full dunk) and would love to celebrate this decision with you! We’ll provide a t-shirt, a towel, and a photographer to help capture this momentous occasion.
