A STUDENT + A CARING ADULT + JESUS = GOOD STUFF

This is our youth ministry formula. It’s not magic, and thankfully it’s not algebraic! We know that when Jesus and a caring adult are involved in the life of a high school student, good stuff happens. We have two leader roles that we are always recruiting for! Will you consider being one of those caring adults?

LEADING A LIFE GROUP

A Life Group leader co-leads a group of students on a weekly basis throughout the school year. These Life Groups meet once a week, for 1.5 - 2 hours, usually on Tuesday or Wednesday nights, starting in late September and going through early May.

Meeting times are comprised of Bible study, relational connection, fun/laughter and prayer time. A typical group is made up of approximately 10-12 students (grade and gender specific) and 2 leaders who equally co-lead the group each week. We provide all of the content and curriculum so you can be fully equipped! Your role is to read through and customize the curriculum for your group ahead of time.

We work hard to ensure our leaders are fully equipped by providing kick-off training and on-going training a few times a year on various topics, such as mental health, asking tough questions, crisis intervention, guiding a successful conversation, and more.

We believe we are better together, which is why we partner every leader with a coach. Our coaching team consists of individuals who have served in ministry for several years and have wisdom and encouragement to share! These coaches help come up with new and fun ideas for your group, and help you walk with your students through tough situations that may come up!

LEADING AT THE WEEKEND

A weekend leader serves at one of our two weekend services that are held on Saturdays at 6pm and Sundays at 11am in the Refinery Theater! As a leader at our weekend service, we ask that you arrive 30 minutes before service, (either 5:30pm or 10:30am) to get filled in on the program for the night and receive you weekend leader role.

Weekend leaders are what make our weekend services welcoming, warm, and fun! This is a highly relational leader role! Weekend leaders are empowered welcome students into our space, jump into some fun, and have genuine conversation.

Once the service gets started, our leader team helps us by sitting with students and engaging in the various program elements. We occasionally have special opportunities for students to respond to the message, and that might include an opportunity for you to pray with a student or help in that response element.

After our service ends, we often invite students to join us at a local restaurant for food, conversation, games and hanging out. And sometimes we stay at the Refinery for food and fun on campus! You are not expected to stay, but you are always welcome to!

*Please note, to serve with us, you must be at least one full year out of high school. If you are applying to be a Life Group leader and are not 21 years of age or older, we will require that you be paired up with someone over that age.
